Old school fat loss is out, and new school fat burning workouts are in. Shocking research from Australia shows that short, interval training workouts are more effective for fat burning than long, slow aerobic cardio workouts.

In the study conducted at the University of New South Wales, women who used interval training lost more belly fat than women doing cardio – even though the cardio workouts were twice as long!

Many people think that the best way to loose belly fat is to simply exercise the muscles in that region alone. Typically people try abdominal crunches, sit-ups and the like. Whilst you may strengthen and build upon the muscles in this region this alone will not get rid of the fat. At best you will stretch stretch the fat layer slightly due to larger protruding musculature, only a fraction of the muscle will definition compared to if there was no fat at all.
